Rare opportunity to buy a 2005 Yamaha TTR250 trail bike that has had a frame up rebuild!

Reliable and economical 250cc four stroke with 6 gears - the perfect dual purpose commuter/trail bike.

First registered December 2005. MOT (full MOT – not a “daylight" one) until June 2015. The bike comes with a  comprehensive workshop manual on CD.

  • Completely nut and bolt rebuild starting with a powder coated frame
  • Refurbished engine with 1st oversize genuine Yamaha piston kit, new timing chain and sprag clutch
  • New sprockets (14/48) and quality Renthal R3 chain plus new chain guard and chain slider fitted
  • New Polisport wrap-around handguards and grips
  • New front (Michelin AC10) and rear (Pirelli MT43)  road-legal off-road tyres. These can be changed for tyres of your choice if required subject to any cost difference.
  • Brand new genuine Yamaha seat (black seat option available!)
  • New fork gaiters and front mudguard
  • New battery and new indicators fitted front and rear
  • New genuine Yamaha headlight surround
  • New "Totally TTRs" stainless steel tail tidy
  • Full renewal of all linkage and swing arm bearing and seals
  • Dual start - electric AND kickstart
  • The TTR has a proper ignition switch (unlike many enduro bikes) plus steering and helmet lock
  • Full speedo and idiot light cluster with speedo in mph
  • Fully adjustable suspension front and rear to suit your riding style
  • Suitable for someone who has passed the A2 as the TTR is less than 33 kW.
  • Suspension is currently standard but if necessary 2” of seat height can be lost with a lowering link

An excellent example of this sought-after bike. It starts and runs well.

All spares are readily available by mail order from somewhere like Fowlers or over the counter at your local Yamaha dealer. Very little changed other than cosmetics between 1993 and 2006 so there are no worries about getting the correct spare part as can be the case with Honda XR250s etc.

There is a good range of after-market accessories, genuine new Yamaha parts and used parts for the TTRs kept in stock by Totally TTRs - see http://www.totallyttrs.com/ . There is lots of information on this very popular and sought after bike at www.ttr250.com

There is also a very active owners group here.

Very economical and will do a day's trail riding on a tank of petrol. Plus it has an "all-day" comfy seat unlike more enduro-based machines.

The TR250 is a perfect beginner's trail bike but also suitable for the more experienced rider who realises that it isn't necessary to have a big engine to enjoy themselves on Devon's technical lanes.

There are a few cheaper TTR250s around but the choice is yours. This one is in very good order – you won’t be disappointed!

Excellent value at £2,400

Bank transfer or cash on collection preferred please.

That looks beautiful Brian - top rate and worth every penny.

Somebody is going to get a better than original TTR there, for sure.

Martyn

PS - I'd be tempted to have it myself - if only it had a black seat wink

Congratulations, Brian, on the sale.

At least it will already be used to carrying pasties and presumably will continue to do so. biggrin

Unfortunately I haven't saved enough for a deposit so I can't hold you back. disbelief

Did it go with a blue or black? confuse

I definitely think the blue seat is the best and it would look nice with a rack as well

Well the bike is now in my garage and this weekend went out and did 60 miles around the back roads of south east Cornwall (stuck to the roads as I'm not ready to get it filthy just yet!). I have to say the bike runs like a dream and I am one very happy bunny

Congratulation Nigel - you chose a very good, well sorted example.

She will undoubtedly give you many years of happy biking.

Look after it - but use and enjoy it as it deserves. wink
