Plastic Restoration Help!

I think this bike sat outside for what seems like a quarter century judging by the headlight faring. Can anyone give me advice on bringing back a like new finish on the tank and fenders?

Razor blade, rubbing down paper of different grades and get the shine back with a carefully applied amount of heat from a heat gun.

Some info here http://ttr250.activeboard.com/t43856610/how-to-restore-your-plastics/

An alternative here http://ttr250.activeboard.com/t54499062/recovering-old-side-panels/

I keep some spare sets in the UK but it will be cheaper for you to buy them in the US. Pity there are only two choices of design for the TTR250 cry

Maddison 2.jpg20140913_160941.jpgI know I just wasn't expecting them to be so darn pricy that will have to wait. Seeing as I support myself and the wife and two kiddos off my measly 15.85 an hour lol.
