With regards to the electrics, I want the loom back to original. So a weekend of tracing wiring is back on. The guru has kindly lent me an unmolested original loom to aid things..
Oh...and don't leave your key in the steering lock.Ever.
If I get fed up fettling today, I always have my other project to finish..Project Hurricane mark 2c needs it's paint finishing..underside is finished mind..
I'm sure that my lemon will be lovely to look at when it's finished..in the meantime, the only lemon like thing I enjoy looking at with my breakfast is this....
Just starting to put the loom back, trouble is, im not sure of the positioning of some of the runs as the original was such a lash up. Im just going to run stuff through the path of least resistance and keep it as tidy as possible and avoid any chafing or rubbing...ooer missus.
It was the first time in 27 years of biking that ive had a crack at wiring and i wasn't keen, but the guru very kindly lent me a un-molested loom as a pattern..then just a case of getting your kettle on a rolling boil, tuning the radio to absolute 80s and getting in a zen-like state of electrical understanding....
**** in the carb :) . I bet the float bowl has debris in the bottom and some could have blocked the pilot jet or its just gummed up. Give it all a clean out and blow through all the passages with an air line if you have one. Avoid removing the float pivot pin though.

All clean as a whistle..more pics to follow..!! Removed float pivot pin as well....I wanted to see what a tw@ of a job it really is..and I can say hand on heart, it's a tw@ of a job that I'll be making easier in the future..!
Carb mount is slightly deformed flat at the bottom (pic is twisted)..could this cause problems Brian..?
Looks like the stub has been deformed by over-tightening. I doubt it leaked though. As long as the rubber is still firmly bonded to the aluminium stub then you should be OK.......

Didn't seem overly tight to undo chief, I'll whip it off and check it while it's in this state.
Thought I may as well whip the shock out at this point, it's going to need a refresh as the bumper has gone missing and it probably needs a re-gas as well...

Do you mind if I stand here and watch you whip it out?
Bottom adjuster 'clicker' fell out while cleaning....got it back in and clicking..adjuster turns a fair way up the thread and then starts clicking..36 clicks and then stops, clicks are a lot softer when going back down though..probably needs the rod looking at.

It was cars and bikes both days over the weekend. Mostly crossers and motards and one brave soul on a brand new blade..
