With regards to the electrics, I want the loom back to original. So a weekend of tracing wiring is back on. The guru has kindly lent me an unmolested original loom to aid things..smile20150427_193930.jpg

Oh...and don't leave your key in the steering lock.Ever.

Decided that a fresh loom is required, too much to put right on the original, so spent a few hours with a toothbrush and a can of contact cleaner..20150503_175719.jpg

Just starting to put the loom back, trouble is, im not sure of the positioning of some of the runs as the original was such a lash up. Im just going to run stuff through the path of least resistance and keep it as tidy as possible and avoid any chafing or rubbing...ooer missus.

It was the first time in 27 years of biking that ive had a crack at wiring and i wasn't keen, but the guru very kindly lent me a un-molested loom as a pattern..then just a case of getting your kettle on a rolling boil, tuning the radio to absolute 80s and getting in a zen-like state of electrical understanding..blankstare..

So the lemon is full of electric but running rough..year old fuel and an old plug probably aren't helping and the carb could do with a strip...so..

Airbox out..

Carb mount is slightly deformed flat at the bottom (pic is twisted)..could this cause problems Brian..?

**** in the carb :) . I bet the float bowl has debris in the bottom and some could have blocked the pilot jet or its just gummed up. Give it all a clean out and blow through all the passages with an air line if you have one. Avoid removing the float pivot pin though.

Looks like the stub has been deformed by over-tightening. I doubt it leaked though. As long as the rubber is still firmly bonded to the aluminium stub then you should be OK.......

Didn't seem overly tight to undo chief, I'll whip it off and check it while it's in this state.

Bugger..wrong lemon again..hmm

Thought I may as well whip the shock out at this point, it's going to need a refresh as the bumper has gone missing and it probably needs a re-gas as well..blankstare.

My missus doesn't walk about the house looking that glam no

Your gonna need a new top shock bearing possibly or maybe just replace the collars if the bearing is good.

I have found a more local (Exeter) possibility for refurbing shocks and am waiting to hear back on price etc.

Bottom adjuster 'clicker' fell out while cleaning..blankstare..got it back in and clicking..adjuster turns a fair way up the thread and then starts clicking..36 clicks and then stops, clicks are a lot softer when going back down though..probably needs the rod looking at.
