I used the search but couldn't find an answer specific to my requirements so here goes...
I have a 1993 ttr. OE. The thing has a not so bright head light and it's made worse bcoz the glass is missing and the reflector has rusted. I wanna get a bracket made and fix a couple of denji fog lights off a jeep. My question is, can the existing headlights wires n switch and wires handle the extra power requirements and also how much power does the stator thingy produce? Would it be enough to power two 55w halogen fog lights?
It says in the manual that the stator has a "nominal output" of 14V 13.5A at 5,000 rpm
That's 189W if my O Level physics is remembered correctly (W = V x A)
You need to add up the wattage of the bulbs already installed (stop/tail and indicators) and see what you have left. I am not an electrical expert but I would leave a few Watts spare.....................
If you have concerns about the switch and wiring perhaps consider putting in a relay.
