if yer leave the bike with a full tank sitting in the sun...
they can pop off as the fuel/air in the tank exspands..
don't know how meany time i have picked the one
on the XTR off the ground beside the bike...

to stop it... put hole in the rubber tube with a pin.. no fuel worth talking about comes out the hole..

Wish I had known about the hole in the pipe trick before I lost mine

IMO- They are absolutely crap!

Mine lasted all of 4 rides (offroad) before causing fuel flow problems. It blocked up with dirt and I was more than happy to throw it away when I got home and not use any (rather than buy the expensive Yamaha one-way valve, one day when I am rich I may).

Thanks. Didnt no they can give trouble. I got a cheap one so sounds like it would have been problems on the first bush outing.

Other than having trouble with fuel ventilation, I have never had a problem with them. :)

Thanks for the tip Pete!

Yeah, they rev like all hell when running out of fuel and it's quite scary if you are on it at the time.

It still ends with the rider having to get of his trusty steed to see what is wrong, all for a cheap breather that is piece of s#@t! lol. nosmile

I must say the XT660 is the only bike it's happened on...

might be the bigger 22.5lt tank.. more volume to exspand...
