Tires for the Devon lanes

So after the first trip out on the TTR an a good 5 hours on the lanes I can report the tire's don't work for me on the back we have a Mitas C02 in near new condition an up front we have a Mitas C19 half worn now they do mud well but on rock the C02 is lost nono now most of the lanes round hear are about half rock an mud now if you ride simms hill down hear in Devon that has a nice polished flat rock bed halfway up an that's about as far is I could get on that back tire in the rain today. now I've never failed to make that hill before no so tire swap time on my xr 250 i'm running a xt-644 army back an a Golden tire mx gt 232 up front an well happy with the set up. so im going with the Army on the front an back on the TTR get the match pair same time but keep the c-19 on the front for a wee bit to see how it go's so down to the question I have has anyone ever tried the army xt-644 front before I give it try ??

I've been tempted by a Goldentyre GT216, thought it might rival the compIV, dont get Goldentyre's over here much..

Thought the MT43 / Comp 4 was the Devon standard. Been using 3 years, but then never tried anything else.....rubbish at Hollocombe though when the mud is wrong

That date was when the combination was first fitted, Steve. smile

I must admit, however, that I haven't been out on any of my bikes lately because of one thing or another - having an automatic car doesn't help either.

I'll have to get my leg over soon otherwise I'll have forgotten how to ride. biggrin
