Hi guys, Just got a TTR for the first time, I have not done any offroading at all but have been a life long biker. Got this to do up and have a go at off-roading when it is done anyway so could be a while away!!
Thanks for the warm welcome, great advice Brian, just wish I had done that before I started to strip it down!! I am going to paint the frame as it is a bit of a mess (not really reflected in the pictures!!) plan was to strip down paint the frame and put back together replacing any bits that need replacing. It won't be anywhere near as good a job as some of Brians projects but should be a bit better than it currently is. Engine is running really sweet other than it ticks a little bit, previous owner changed the shims and thats when it started so going to re-check the clearances. Fortunately the sprag clutch has just bee replaced so thats sorted. Other than that going to paint a few bits check bearings, change fork oil and replace / fix broken bits and give it a service (think the head bearing has a bit of play). So thats the plan may put something on the restoration thread but obviously not as much detail as Brian.
Great site that has given me lots of inspiration and just about every technical issue resolved so hoping it all goes well!! PS if anybody has any spare white plastic bits or knows how to get dents out of a tank I may need your assistance...
