Hi, I am new to the Forum. Been trail riding for a few yeras since joining the TRF. Started with an Ex Army XR 250 Honda, great bike but lack of electric start was a pain when I stalled in deep ruts or half way up a rocky mountian, so decided to look for a dual start.
Had the TTR just over 12 months now. 2002 model. Gets used 2 or 3 rides a months with North Wales TRF. Thanks to Mr TTR, Brian Sussex, I have a steady stream of spares and advice to keep it running. Most expensive was sprag clutch and starter last year, luckily I have a friend who is a brilliant mechanic, I do the map reading and he fixes them.
I enjoy riding and it gets well used. Not the lightest bike but as I fall off less now, it's not too much of a problem. It gets me everywhere, I have worked out that momentum and the ability to hang on will overcome my lack of riding skill! Heading to the IoM in June for 4 days of trails, can't wait!
