As the title goes how much vibration comes through the seat of your TTR's, due to lower back and hip issues I am finding it increasingly more painful  to ride the wee Yam.  having not owned a single for years I'm not sure how much to expect, I really like my TTR and don't want to get  rid of it but I am struggling with it at the moment.  Is there anything that may be wrong with it or is this just the nature of the machine. Any intel will be appreciated.

Cheers from John

are you sure your swing arm and shock are all 100% ?
Only vibration as such I feel are the knobbly tyres on tarmac.

There is a fair amount of vibes from the engine getting to the handlebars.
but I wouldn't reckon it is normally noticeable via the seat.

Maybe the vibes you are getting are from the tires.
But good news is that proper wheel balancing makes a huge difference.

The wheel balance is a good place to start

First buy a few self adhesive weights from a car tire outlet

Now put the bike on a stand

loosen the rear wheel nuts so it just sits between the swingarm legs

then either press the pads out of the way or remove the brake caliper

the wheel should now spin freely

Find the wheels bottom point where it stops all the time and mark opposite that point

now use the self adhesive weights you picked up till it doesn't stop in the same place all the time

I used about 50G of weight on the back but I also run heavy duel sport tyres and HD tubes

Hope this helps

Cheers Steve, mine is running off-road tyres also, I have noticed that the noise from the tyres is noisier, sounds like a landy my mate used to run.
