roost guard backpacks (chest protectors, etc.)

I'm looking at these Zacspeed chest protector backpacks and they look nice, but I wish they were cheaper.  Wearing a usual pack with a usual roost guard isn't very comfortable so I end up riding trail unprotected too often.  Does any one use the Zacspeed or something similar?  Any one figure out a good set up?  Maybe I should just be looking for the right pack that will fit over/around the chest protector (which would be cheaper).

The older I get the more plastic I surround myself with.  How we survived our non-plasticised youths I'll never know ...

I wear a Thor Iimpact chest/back protector with mesh sleeves (zipper offset from the center), and have no problem wearing an ordinary backpack with it. It is especially great in warm weather--not hot or uncomfortable.

Thanks, good tip. I was looking at those actually, I wear Thor plastics currently. I'm 5'9" 160 and wear a 40" jacket, any guess on Large or Medium?

These seem cheap, not sure if it helps.

Sorry for the slow reply--I usually don't have time to check the forum during the week.  Anyway, I am 5'10" and just under 170 lbs and I have a "L/XL".  I believe that I wear a 42 jacket.  Mine fits me well.
