Hi I'm Joe.

I just became the new owner of an early TTR.  I was offered it at a bargain price and I've been looking for something a little more lightweight for doing local lanes on as my XT is pretty damn heavy for technical stuff but I don't wanna let it go.

I've started work stripping off the unnecessary bits, servicing, tidying and prepping it for a bit of off road and will post a couple of pics when it's done.

I can only guess it was so cheap due to the offensiveness of that seat!

Here she is when I got her home.

Here's my XT too for anyone interested.

Cheers

TTRs are very capable machines. biggrin

Does it have the original "round" headlamp? confuse They are very good and can be upgraded with a better bulb.

Before any seriously laning I would recommend some chunkier tyres.

No it's not that early, it's a 94 model.
Yes I intend to fit road legal motocross tyres as it will only be used for "greenlaning" and a bash guard and Renthal enduro high bars for a better standing up position.

Ttr's are simple beast, do your regular oil changes and usual checks and will serve you we'll on the lanes,

Last time I was out I went through a river and the water level was at the bottom of the petrol tank and it just kept going, nothing kills these machines lolbiggrin

Welcome me to the flock

AFAIK- The 1993~1999 Open Enduro models were ONLY fitted with the US style RECTANGULAR headlamps. See here- http://ttr250.activeboard.com/t55938126/ttr250-catalogue/

and here- http://www.megazip.ru/ru/bike/yamaha/view/1086/2710/51744#g51781

The Raid's are the only model that is fitted standard with the ROUND headlamp.
