I just became the new owner of an early TTR. I was offered it at a bargain price and I've been looking for something a little more lightweight for doing local lanes on as my XT is pretty damn heavy for technical stuff but I don't wanna let it go.
I've started work stripping off the unnecessary bits, servicing, tidying and prepping it for a bit of off road and will post a couple of pics when it's done.
I can only guess it was so cheap due to the offensiveness of that seat!
Here she is when I got her home.
Here's my XT too for anyone interested.
Cheers

No it's not that early, it's a 94 model.
Yes I intend to fit road legal motocross tyres as it will only be used for "greenlaning" and a bash guard and Renthal enduro high bars for a better standing up position.
Ttr's are simple beast, do your regular oil changes and usual checks and will serve you we'll on the lanes,
Last time I was out I went through a river and the water level was at the bottom of the petrol tank and it just kept going, nothing kills these machines lol
Hi Chimpy.......I'm a newbie to this forum too and have found it of immense value! Welcome and enjoy your very nice bike....looks like a canny purchase!
