Managed to acquire a fmf exhaust for my ttr off ebay great condition with db killer on it no dents for £155 plus postage anybody recommends best jets if it needs doing not changing airbox all stock except fmf exhaust

Ive got an fmf on my bike and jets are standard ,i looked into it and without airbox mods theres no need to rejet

I did drop the needle clip down to make it run a bit richer

Okay thanks for the tip with that needle clip moved down does it run as normal with stock pipe

It runs normal and goes better than normal a great improvment over standard and if your keeping the standard header pipe remove the restrictor if you havent already

Ive got a power core 4 and its quite loud ,which one have you got ?

Same I think no stickers on just fmf Ingraved on, am very happy with it cost £155 but seeing it better than I though, can you remember how many you went down on needle clip

Just a heads up-

If you upgrade the airflow (ie. FMF Q4, Powercore or any high flow exhaust) you may need to use a larger main jet. However, without buying a high flow air filter, you may only need to enrich the jet needle clip position.

If trying to use the standard OEM air filter with an aftermarket (high flow) exhaust, the engine tries to suck more air from the air filter but can't because the air filter will not allow it. This leads to a rich condition and will be the reason why some people do not need to use larger jets.

IMO- It is not worth upgrading the exhaust without buying a high flow air filter as the performance increase will not be much.

I was more looking for a louder sound that's all, I ride alot in city centre and drivers are blind well if they say didn't hear me coming must be deaf, am using standard air box and twin air filter so will just move needle clip down

I have a twin air filter and fmf pipe clip down one notch cant say it gives much more power over standard ,not had it long and it sometimes bogs in the mid range

Any suggestions as to what mite help ? carb and bike have been serviced with new diaphram and valves set

Havent checked as i was out two sundays ago and it was wet and muddy so didnt want to take the cover off ,only does it sometimes

I had wondered about fitting a bigger snorkel

I got two air box covers a standard cover and a modifed one that makes slight improvment got 3 small holes with gauze over them will try both.
