clunk when turning off

hi,just bought another ttr,blue one,and starts fine but when you turn key or engine cut out switch to off there is a loud solid clunk from the engine/starter areacry,any clues/help would be appreciated,thanks in advance,rodge DSCF1403.JPG

Beware - the dreaded sprag clutch clunk. bleh

ok removed flywheel and several "sprags" fell out,is this whats causing the problem then or are they supposed to fall out?

The sprags are not supposed to fall out, sorry to disappoint you. cry

The repair is not a cheap fix either. hmm

many thanks martin,at least i know the money spent will be worthwhile and sorts the problem out,on the plus side all the various starter cogs appear to be ok,thaks for the pointers,cheers

sprag clutch all done,about 10 of the thingys fell out once i removed it from the flywheel.

thanks to brian and trish for super quick service,ordered mid morning,arrived first thing next day,cheers for that.

hope to spend the weekend on the lanes and start the camchain job on the white oe.
