I am on bearing refurb duties today.

Just stripped out an old link arm and was a bit surprised at how worn the lower shock bearing was.

The outer bearing case was worn through and the bearing had taken a substantial groove out of the link arm itself which is sadly now scrap cry

 Yeah you're right about the ''lack of grease'' part... because it does not need grease. It is a dry bearing (well, actually a swivel bush). wink I had better mention now that ''All Balls'' suggest using good waterproof grease as their bearing is steel-on-steel.

I think we can safely put it down to ''ignorance'' as Martyn suggested. smile
