Over the last few days I have stripped and cleaned the lockable fuel cap, carburettor and yesterday was working on the air-box.

All done on the bench in the garage.

Dropped a screwdriver on the floor and when picking it up seen this rubber O ring laughing at me from the floor.

Hello there little O ring, I said, where have you come from??   No reply!!

Anybody know where it lives?

Hmm, tricky! confuse

I am going out on a limb to say it is from the locking fuel cap.

See here for more info- http://ttr250.activeboard.com/t51137706/locking-fuel-cap-key-barrel-removal/

It can't be the carburettor as none of the O-rings are 9mm.

The intake/airbox doesn't have O-rings other than the carb stub (which is not 9mm).

Not the fuel cap, had a look this morning and it is much smaller than the fuel cap O ring.

Don,t think it belongs the carb anywhere, and can't think of anywhere on the engine for one so small.

Athena_complete_gasket_set1.jpg

The pic above is of a very comprehensive Athena gasket set. Do you think it could be any of the O rings shown?

Or in the pic below?

What's the small one below the two lighter coloured gaskets that look like exhaust gaskets in the bottom set?
