Bearings, bearings, bearings...

I have never come across inferior bearings, I would say only lack of grease if you can grease the bearings, or sealed bearings dry up that they fail,

They all have a certain amount of life use age

For example, bearings on my transit are still the originals and that's 11 years old

I don't bump up kerbs and drive sensibly it's the only thing that I can think of as to why that have not failed

I really do NOT think that they produce bearings for SKF, FAG, NSK, TIMKEN, etc. confuse

Considering that the firm has a funny (to me) name I would think their claim is similar to those made by the Amsterdam vendors of Rolex Oyster watches and the like! smile

The address is "Industry Park, Changzhou, Jiangsu" which is in China.

Would Switzerland's SKF or USA's TIMKEN source their renowned wares from China?

Besides, they say "we provide our brand SND(ABEC1 to ABEC9,P0 to P2 level)and also famous brand" which is different from "we make ..."

Exactly my thoughts Martyn. So, when you buy a "known" brand bearing, how do you know its not one of theirs??????

I have always been of the opinion that SKF bearings are the best, the reason I think like this is our stores are full of them. They are fitted to equipment that run continually for many years.
I work at a nuclear power station where quallity is parramount. The packaging is always blue boxes and the bearings are engraved SKF. I would assume that they are purchased off a reputable supplier and they would be far from cheap.

Just my thoughts on roller type bearings.

I alway use German FAG bearings when possable...
I had to sorce the top steering head bearing from
the Chinamen when I done the fork swap in the XT
needed a uncommon OD/ID ..
I pop the seals out & re-pack all sealed bearings before I install them...
Some of the bike manufactures are going to plane bearings in the cranks
now on some models... as the roller bearings can't accelerate fast enough
for the new motors and get a lot of ball skid in the races...

I have a SKF bearing spec book.. Is dam good for finding bearing sizes..
