There is alot of free play in my stand. Bikes only done 9000 km and most of the road. The insert that goes into the frame seems a tiny bit to long so i may grind it alittle then try and squeese the stand itself together allowing the nut and bolt to tighten. The insert wasnt allowing it to have a precise fit. As i put the stand up ,the spring pulls it like it should but with a thud then a rattle with all the free play between stand and frame. I sure know when my stands up.
Common problem for which there are only temporary cures! My 325 stand rattles around like a good 'un
If you have access to a MIG welder and can do a neat weld then a shallow run along where I have marked in green on the attached pic would sort your problem out temporarily.....
yer mine wobbles around..
after 75 plus years of makeing motorbike yer think
they would have the wobbly stand issue sorted...
dam it... I did on a IT465... Opened the fork up to 25mm
& welded a 25mm long coller on the stand plate.. which
gave a pivot area 3 times what Yamaha did...
I couldnt get on to a welder so i did another tempory fix. I had to grind the inner bush that goes in the frame first. Then i got a thin washer and ground that even thinner. Hammered it in and it works great. I even had to back off the nut and bolt as the stand wouldnt move. In a year or so i can tighten the stand bolt again.
a bit of a tip it works well but to make it last a heap longer fill in the old hole with a bit of weld ,other wise once the hole wears into the old hole its back to a floppy one again (does take a while to wear through though )
