Hello All.

I thought I'd finally introduce myself here as I've been floating around for a while soaking up all the info in the maintenance threads.

i bought a 99 TTR 250 Raid back in April and have already had a few experiences I thought I would share!

Firstly,  great bike and made even better by a very informative forum.

The bike itself Ive purchased is a pretty well used but well maintained 99. I've so far had it offroad twice and already been in the garage 3 times, although mostly due to my own causes. New engine side case as I had an off and cracked one, new barrel as it got too hot and split(may have already had a split, I just made it worse) and starter problems.

Normally i plan to do all work myself too, but i have also just had a little boy so the local garage was a godsend getting the work done cheaply and quickly.

Its great that everything has been so easy to fix and cheap a which is why I went with the TTR I guess.

And if anyone is looking for a battery replacement I just ordered one from Manbat For £15.23! Delivered!

I'm hoping to get out for a few rides asap so if anybody is from the Bournemouth/dorset area, please get in touch. I could do with learning a few tracks, tricks and trails.

ill post more about my mechanical issues in the relevant threads soon.

Regards

Andrews

p.s. I have attached a pic of the beast as she is today, although I doubt it'll stay this way for long. I'm not a great "purple and white" fan!

Hi there neighbour and welcome to the forum!

There are quite a few guys on our Devon TRF forum from the far East of Devon, Somerset and Dorset so why not join up here http://devongtrf.activeboard.com/ and introduce yourself and ask about any trail rides coming up in your area?

Cheers

Brian

Welcome to you, Andrew and your TTR.

Like Brian I'm in Devon - next door to you countywise.

Enjoy your bike and don't forget to tell us all about your experiences with it.

Martyn
