Snapped indicator brackets. How should I fix?

Hello everyone, long time lurker of this forum but now I have a question so I decided to make an account.

The left hand rear indicator bracket on my 2004 TTR has snapped as shown in pictures below. I looked online and cannot find any replacement parts on eBay. I did email a Yamaha part supplier who told me the part would cost about $20 if he gets one in but that might take a while.

So my question is. How should I fix this? Would it be possible just to weld it back together? Or should I try to make an entirely new part? Or just wait and order it from the Yamaha part supplier? Right now it's held together through the frame with zip ties. Anyway, here are some photos to show what I'm talking about:

Hello Domox and welcome to the forum.

This was taken from my rebuild thread and may help...

I had to fix this rear blinker bracket that I had acquired from Brian. It seems this is a common thing to snap at the same point as my 1999 (really a 2000 model when registered i think?) came with the bracket broken (same side & place). I thought i would upload how I fixed it for others sake.

My first thought was to weld it but I would have had to brace it anyway or it would have broken easily again no

All I did was used an old muffler clamp & bent it on a 90 degree angle....drilled two holes & made one ''lock'' into the broken piece of mount. The picture below should say the rest...

This is when fitted to the bike...looks like factory (only with the extra bolt)

The bolt holds the broken locking tab  in place also so it was a successful repair wink

.............

Jarrah.

Hi Dominic and welcome to the forum wink

We have some watchers/lurkers in very exotic countries across the globe. I can't see that they would come across this forum by accident so assume they have some interest in TTR250s. Just wish they would register and start to fill out the world map of users biggrin

Good reply from Jarrah although I would go with a decent weld up biggrin

Cheers

Brian

PS This is the map of users - I would love to fill in some of the grey areas where we have no registered users....

Dark blue shows highest density of registered users.

That actually seems like a great solution... I'll see what I have laying around otherwise I could probably find something suitable at a hardware store for cheap. Thanks so much, that was really fast too!
