Can you translate Californian?

Hello all,

Just seen a post on TT and thought I would share it as it was SO FUNNY. Now I know my English could do with a bit of ''brushing up on'' but this takes the icing off the cake.

Well, here it is...

I just put a set of street tires on.- is any way how can now if the are in wrong position??what is the bug screw does?

Anybody care to translate? (or try). biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Enjoy!

Jarrah

In the context of http://www.thumpertalk.com/topic/1028073-2002-yamaha-wr426-front-suspension-too-hard/

I suggest that they need help in the standard front suspension adjustment screw settings, and would also welcome advice as to whether changing from dirt to street tyres would require different suspension settings.

Given that their moniker is "Koala426", I suggest that they may not be a native Californian, but possibly a refugee from Australia, which may explain their sloppy use of language

I guess that's how you see it Brindabella, but I would think that ''one'' could understand an Aussie, even if they can't spell to save their life. wink

The trouble he was having was using verbs, adjectives, nouns in the correct order, not an Aussie ''trait''. To be fair on him he is probably a foreigner who does not understand English.

I was not making fun at his English (well maybe a little) but rather having a laugh at how bad it can get. Maybe I shouldn't have shared it but I did not ''name and shame'' like you did.  I am no ''shining light'' when it comes to using English myself (as stated above) and do not condemn bad English. It was merely to ''make a smile'' and no harm was meant by my post.

Very good translation BTW, it took me awhile but only worked it out from the top of his post (a little easier to understand). Since your so good at this, maybe you would like to try to help him? wink

You always seem to try to make me wrong or belittle me. I also see that you stalk my pro on TT (Brindles). Now I'm not making assumptions but if you have ''a chip to get off your back'' with me Brindabella, do it in a PM, not on the forum please.

Jarrah

(DUDE) I just put a set of street tires on.- is there any way you know of how you can now (know) if they are in the wrong position??_what is the bug screw and what does it do

Jarrah I know you were not really asking these questions, hopefully someone steered this guy in the right direction.

Have never heard of a bug screw.

I have eaten enough of them while riding I should know everything about bugs.no

Hope this guy gets to Texas soon, so we can learn him some fancy talkin' before it ain't too late!
