A recent trail ride

I thought I would share some pictures & vids with other owners from a recent trail ride.

This is one of the easier trails but still has some technical sections to catch you out. The first time I rode this trail I was going too fast into a tight corner, that came up all of a sudden. I hit a BIG rock that had been flicked up by four-wheelers that had been trail riding. The end result was that ''I came a gutza'' (English : Crashed).
 
I have added a few pictures of some of the rough sections, a water crossing, and a view from on one of the hills. The following pictures is a rocky incline.

 This is a small water crossing with rocks lurking in the water.
 
 
 

This is a video of an easier section but still has a few rocks to watch out for (or should I say boulders?).

All seems to be running really well after 1600KM & I have all the minor problems/adjustments out of the way now.
 
I must say that TTR's are the most comfortable, and easy to ride for trail riding that I have ridden. Also once uncorked & jetted properly they go better than expected, and has plenty of low down torque. I cannot say enough for these under-rated bikes so I had better finish it up before I drag on.
 
All said and done, I love my new found (re-built) treasure.

Video plays fine Jarrah - good quality as well.

The Passenger is in my all-time Top 5 tracks - nice one ("bonza" in Oz I think) wink

Trail envy I am afraid though - oh to have even one such long open trail here in Devon!

Yep - you are a lucky man Jarrah to have such nice trails and a decent amount of warmth. I am afraid we are all still in thermals and winter gloves here in the UK cry

I left my gloves at a mates house so I went ''bare handed'' .smile

It is still warm here but should start to get cold soon (not as cold a the UK) as winter is on the way.

I was wondering whether or not the video shows in the UK because it says it will be blocked in some countries.confuse

It is full HD, shot from my Contour+ action cam. I could have fixed the shaky camera but I kinda like it like that because it shows how bumpy it is. I'm glad it works! aww

Gotta love The Passenger-  in AU it is either ''bonza'' (mainly bogans :) or ''YOU LITTLE RIPPER''. wink

I am going trail riding today (if my mate doesn't chicken out from the weather) so I should have some more ''trail envy'' soon. wink Gotta love Australia for trail riding..... IT ROCKS! smile

Well the sun came out in the UK yesterday, and I needed to test a couple of things with the bike -

1 - that the new base gasket doesn't leak - (it doesn't - phew)

2 - a mount I made for the camera on the handlebars is reasonably vibration free

Took the TTR to the nearest lane to me in Essex, and was surprised how everything has dried up so quickly...

Jarrah, thanks for that video. I loved it (Played in Texas just fine). Wish I had one of those camera's to show what we ride here. We ride trails lined with cactus and mesquite trees (real nasty thorns) around us if we crash.

BTW- after your video ran, I saw another video that popped up where you are also a pretty good drummer. I do a bit of that myself. Have the grandson into drumming also but I have too many skateboarding and motorcycle crashes to be any good on the 'skins' today. (I have broken both wrists over my 50 years) Everyone says I need to grow up and stop all that but I don't listen! Someone has to keep the doctors busy.biggrin

No problems Greg, I'm glad you liked it.

My camera was bought for $400.00 Australian dollars but with the mounts, water-proof case and ''what have you'' it came to roughly $600.00. Cheaper cams can be found if your prepared to wait for a good deal. 

I do like to do a bit of drumming now and again. I am a little out of practice but it does not stop me having fun with it. I do have quite a list of injuries aswell, one of which left me with no knuckle on the left ring finger (Pit bull x Sharpai). The other involving my left middle finger getting chopped off at the tip (mechanical accident). I never let it get in the way of having fun though.

I have been enjoying reading your posts on here, they are always full of cheer, with a fair bit of exhilaration involved. Keep up the good work wink
