Best option would be Pot Bellly Black.

See HERE for more info.

Plastikote bbq paint. Cheaper than exhaust paint and loads better!

DO NOT use 'rust-oleum stove & bbq paint' I prepped it, done exactly what it said on the tin. left it in my heated greenhouse overnight. Fitted it this morning left it ticking over for 3 mins the paint smoked a bit then flake off disbelief. back to the drawing board

nope, the plastikote one is the one

if youre painting the stainless header you need to give it a good key, maybe 180 grit.

The paint you used sounds like the wrong one.

I have used Pot Belly Black with ok-good results. It must be heated slowly though or it will crack off just like described.

The only other thing is that works is VHT Extractor paint. All of these will blemish or crack over time though. blankstare

Without spending A LOT OF MONEY $$$ on aeroplane paint there is no real solution that I know of.
