sorry to ask so many questions just got 250 out again and need advice, sprag clutch is better now with some oil in her, but how do I go about adjusting the throttle cables so no slack
First of all, determine which cable is the adjuster ; this will be the cable with the longest thread. This adjusting cable goes to the top mounting bracket. The other cable (obviously) goes in the lower mounting bracket.
First fit cables, then tighten the lower cable. This is NOT an adjuster and just needs to be tight.
Next, tighten the top adjusting cable until you have 2-5mm play at the throttle grip. To check this twist the throttle back-and-forth to check the free play. As long as there is a bit there, but not too much it will be fine. If you find that you do not have enough adjustment, use the adjuster on the handlebar's to compensate this.
If you have too much slack, it can get sticky, same as if you over-tighten it.
Once the correct adjustment is found, leave your bike idle, while turning the handlebars side; check that the idle does not raise or lower when doing this.
Very easy job.
Good luck
