Hello,

Need abit of advice on my ttr recently had to start using it again with the snow and being down alot of 2 up off roading in deep snow and teaching a mate off roading techniques and truddging through 2-3 foot snow and today one hell of a tank slapper,

Long story short, once or twice the bike just stalled and made a clunk sound when idling with clutch in Hot maybe ? and once with when I revved it with clutch in it made a tiny clunk but no stalling, need a video of how a bad and a good sprag clutch sounds and what happens if it goes on me.

but overral 'bambi has done well in the snow two up off road on some very difficult terrain.

I am not sure what you mean because it was hard to read your post. It sounds like you are having clutch troubles but hard to say. If you can be clear with your problem maybe someone can help?

This is a good sprag

my makes a clunk not loud but you can hear a thud.

and what do I need to replace and cost

changed the clutch plates

It depends on how bad it is as to what you need to replace. If it is banging you should replace it ASAP or it can cause expensive damage to the starter gear, pinion gears or even the casing. I would suggest to replace or remove it until you can fix it.

If you want to remove it completly just remove the sprag clutch & all other starting components & use a 30mm freeze/welch plug for the hole where the starter motor sits.

To replace the sprag clutch all that should be needed is the sprag clutch, depending on how long it has been banging/clunking for. Worst case scenario is that you need to replace the pinion gears & starter motor.

These are the parts needed below.

4GY-15590-00-00STARTER ONE-WAY ASSY$137.88$93.07

You may need to replace the little pinion gear also but that would be up to you to decide.

4GY-15517-01-00GEAR, IDLER 2$94.70$65.34

Worst case scenario is that you need the large pinion gear & starter motor

4GY-15515-00-00

 4GY-81890-00-00MOTOR ASSY$282.81$203.30

GEAR 3$74.78$51.52

Don't let that deter you from replacing it as it is most likely just the starter/sprag clutch that needs replacing.

Here is another vid of a sprag that sounds worst than it is....
