I have found it safer to cut metal with a small grinder fitted with a 1mm thick (thin?) cutting disc - see here. Makes short work of TTR frames
Also for cleaning up the welds, flap discs are great - see here
Also, just a thought, should there perhaps be a secondary (alumniium?) container to stop petrol spilling in the unfortunate case of an accident. H&S gone mad I know

Thanks for the tips Brian- I am now the proud owner of a flap disc; I did have a smaller cutting disc, but went through it within 8 cuts; so resorted to the larger metal/stone cutting disc- which was NOT ideal!...such though was the bodge!
Thanks everyone for the responses. I am new to welding (as you can tell!) and so welcome ways to improve along with words of encouragement- the video itself took nearly 6 hours to do and a full bottle of Red!
