Ouch! .... we got there eventually.
Have just found a Open Enduro Tank on eVil bay so will be getting the OE seat and tank on. Although the RAID tank holds more fuel, even with the RAID seat its not a great fit with all the panels.

Hi Brian,
sorry I call them sliders as thats what the caliper does on them :) I am refering to the rear caliper bracket mounting pins. I had an issue with the rear pads binding badly after I fitted the new pads. At first I thought the pads were too think, but when I stripped down the caliper mount I couldnt get the caliper off the bracket. It had a small amount of travel at the very end of the pins but that was it. Meaning the caliper could not reset itself for the new pads.

Fitted the new seals and pins, all good now.

That is good news about the speedo sensor. I just hope the dash is good.I am in no hurry for the unit as I fitted a trailtech yesterday so at least know how slow I am giong :)

biggrin Hurray project OE has passed its MOT first time with only 2 minor warnings.  The bright pink handlebars are a little twisted - Tester mocks me as they are the same colour as the wheels! and the front wheel bearings have some play.... which is strange as I fitted new ones so will have a look at that.

Also noted in passing was the binding rear pads.... genious that I am I havent fitted the new sliders yet. 8 months in to the project and I totally forgot about that.

The speedo is not working at all so the sender unit has been posted off to Brian to have repaired. In the meantime I have a trailtech dash that I will fit to keep me giong until the sensor is back.
Off to the garage now to do some fettling and fine tuning.

Hi Ian and well done on getting the TTR back on the road! I hope you can start to enjoy it now wink

Not sure what you mean by sliders in relation to the rear pads?

We received your sender unit yesterday and I tested it on my road TTR with the digital speedo. It's duff so will be on its way for repair today. The guy is on holiday for a few days it seems so hopefully get it back the w/c  26 August - Bank Holiday allowing....

The OE tank I got off ebay has arrived. I am quite shocked at how small the OE tank is compared to the RAID one.  The RAID tank is roughly double the size.

Also started cleaning up the plastics. Wasn't going to bother with it but after a test patch decided it was worth it

Bike is looking a lot better now :)

Thanks Brian,

I just wish I hadnt taken so long to get to this point. The intention was to leave it tatty and get riding. Now I wish I had the frame powder coated in Feb/March and put everything back on with the fresh frame.

Money wise I am likely to be to way out of pocket but if the frame in was good nick it would certainly have put it up in the above average condition group.

I know from experience that one person can completely strip a TTR to the bare frame in less than three hours and rebuild it about the same time.

Two people take nearly 2 hours for each operation - not sure why that is!

Our local firm will shot blast, rust coat and powder coat for £90.

Well worth doing if you are hanging onto the bike and is also a good selling point for the future - and it looks good wink

thats interesting! Is there a purple to match the frame of the OE? I was looking at the colour match thread but couldnt make up my mind if that was all for the Blue bike or the raid/oe

I couldn't find a good match so went for black on my OE. Interesting that the last TTRs to be sold a couple of years back had black frames.
