Just lost my start engine and on oppening it found the teeth gone :(

The model is a 4GY5 Raid 1997

Can you help? is it the same part as the later models?

Hi Brian,

Thank you for the link. I've been looking for a starter of the fz600 but there aren't that many here in Portugal :(

Found one in Japan thow but the bidding and payng isn't that friendly.

It's amazing the kind of seccond hand parts you can find at http://www.webike.net/tab/auction/TT250R/o50l50c22a/?ca=26308

They do have an advert on top targeted to overseas buyers but i coudn't find much about that company.

Do you know if the start engine of the later model fits?

Thank you

Welcome nuno

I get all my genuine OEM parts from partzilla.com   so you may want to check it out.

Any starter motor from 1993-2012 will fit. They are all the same with TTR's in that year range.

Hi, Just a quick update. Found a metal worker that claims he can rebuild the start engine teeth.... since it's quite inexpensive compared to a new one will try it.

He claims it will lats as long as the original ones. I'll let you know how it went.

:)
