Looking good Adam!

I checked with my Japanese parts manual and the way Yamaha differentiated between the different colour schemes on the same model number was to add a letter.

So the "standard" purple 4RR1 is A and your 4RR1 is B.

The glorious black 4RR2 OE is B. I checked for the part numbers of the black panels on the interweb and drew a blank so, if anyone was to replicate the colour scheme, they would have to spray some white or blue panels to black.

Jarrah, I ment I was trying to get the original oe decals made up for the bike. As far as I am aware the fork protectors are oe as the other side combines as a disc guard and they are a spot on fit so assumed they were original?

Hi Adam

There is one of your model TTR in Pakistan - see below:

Kashifs TTR.JPG

The owner asked me to source the original decals (except for the tank ones as his were good) and they look like this:

Headlight decal 001.jpg

Decals - side panel 002.jpg

Just those three decals cost about £120!!!

Regarding the disc guard  and fork leg protectors, I think they are genuine Yamaha parts. I have only ever seen two disc-side guards fitted on OEs. Very rare!

Actually, looking at the pics again, yours has the lovely gold wheel rims and your tank decals are brighter with more gold/yellow so maybe not the same model. Ir is probably a 4G1 model disbelief

(Very useful model look-up thread you have there Jarrah biggrin)

Can't find the fork protectors in any of my parts catalogues. There must be another Yamaha catalogue which lists the optional extras. Keep a look out for any Yamaha dealer closing down and grab any TTR catalogues and fiche before they go in the incinerator!

Wow - they look great Adam!

Did you get the full set of tank, headlight and side panel decals in the kit?

I am just thinking that if I ever do a black TTR then D&D Graphics will have the patterns and will just need to change the colours wink

They were based on these decals, I got the full set inc the tank decals and some for the swinging arm but have not fitted the swinging arm ones as I wanted to keep it original. I also have left the original tank decals on as at some point I may get the tank painted, they are a near perfect match to the original tank decals.

Great work from Thushara at d&d graphics and a very good price for custom designed decals!
