Took the TTR for the first time yesterday for a couple of hours on the Byways near me and very impressed, some of it was pretty heavy going, wet and very muddy but the TTR plodded through everything
only down side was a very heavy clutch so just wondering if this is the norm for the Yam ? would be gratefull for any suggestions or advice

Hi Phil
The TTR hasn't got a particularly heavy clutch but maybe a previous owner has fitted HD clutch springs?
Before investigating, make sure that the clutch lever is the right one, that the cable isn't worn or sticking and that the clutch is properly adjusted.
Lube the cable and try again. I do this by giving a preliminary "wash" with D40 and when that is flowing all the way through, I finish off with 3-in1 oil as recommended by Venhill.
I have had a situation where, on an unlubed and rusty cable, the inner cable had worn through the steel collar/guide just above the actuating rod. Worth checking that's all OK.
Brian
PS There is a diagram showing the clutch adjustment in this thread.
