 Hi Phil

The TTR hasn't got a particularly heavy clutch but maybe a previous owner has fitted HD clutch springs?

Before investigating, make sure that the clutch lever is the right one, that the cable isn't worn or sticking and that the clutch is properly adjusted.

Lube the cable and try again. I do this by giving a preliminary "wash" with D40 and when that is flowing all the way through, I finish off with 3-in1 oil as recommended by Venhill.

I have had a situation where, on an unlubed and rusty cable, the inner cable had worn through the steel collar/guide just above the actuating rod. Worth checking that's all OK.

Brian

PS There is a diagram showing the clutch adjustment in this thread.

Excellent news!

I must confess that I can get cramp in my clutch arm on a long technical trail day. Anyone tried a hydraulic conversion?

Brian
