What Sprocket sizes do you use?

Bike is a US (blue) 2001 -TTR 250

I am considering making it street legal. Would still be riden primarily offroad. Currently running 13F/52R sprockets.

I was wondering if anyone has tried other combinations and would be interested to know what there experiences were.

Thanks

Hey Vancor88,

There has been a lot metioned on this topic already so i think it's pretty much exhausted now. If you do a search for example it comes up with stuff like this ...

Chain and sprockets or Sprocket question...   14 tooth front sprocket & there is more

.....................................................................................................

Sprockets questions are always a Trivial thing because there is no reccommended size for any given riding style. In the end it will come down to what your personal preference is. For example...

I ride trails & also road so i have a 13 tooth front for offroad & use the 14 T for normal road use.

For road my combination is 14T front /50-51 rear for more bottom end pick-up. It still seems fine at 100klms & not reving out so i'm happy with this for road.

For offroad i swap to 13T front/50-51 rear for even more bottom end & the power to pick it up over logs, gullys ect. I have been very happy with this set-up & it is still road useable although not as desired.

I cannot suggest a size for you as i have no idea of your riding style, road conditions, weight, what you use the bike for...ect.

................

Jarrah.
