Picked these up from my local CMC got it knocked off 10% off aswell so came to £63 pain in the rear quarters to fit but once fitted feel very solid, and my brake and clutch level feel very protected, I bought them not just for off roading but also safety side is to things, had some close calls with cars trying to squeeze past parked cars one touch of that brake lever and your off, the hand guards would just whack there mirror off or stop level getting bent also why does my rear shock squeak when on stand but after riding is fine, but stood overnight start squeaking again.

Sounds like you need to grease your linkage arm unless the shocky is stuffed?

shock seems to be fine, might just need greasing, when I find work I want to redo the linkages and refurbish the shock,

Mine squeeks too. cry

It's the top shocker attachment that needs a squirt of WD40 now and then to stop. aww

It is an unlubricated pivot that gets a bit dry and the seals consequently complain by squeeks, quietly. ashamed

If it's ignored it comes and goes for no reason and is only annoying, not really harmful.

Totally go with Martyn's diagnosis.

Common little foible of the TTR OE. Disappointing if you have just renewed al the linkeage bearings and the top shock bearing has no play!

You will learn to love it

Ah yes that annoying top bushno I am thinking about replacing mine with high quality caged bearings but not sure if it would make much difference or make things worst???Bearings - Ball - Double Row - Self Aligning

See here for more info

Think i remember something about this in an earlier thread but can't remember if it meantioned this or which thread it was for that matter.

Be cautious with changing the type of bearing Jarrah. I am not an expert but Yamaha use "solid" bearings in the top and bottom shock joints for a reason. They really take a pounding that caged bearings might not be able to take.
