Hey Richard,

Question:

Is it in your top end?

..................................................

If it is it can be either.

Timing chain.

Or ring rattle

.......................................................

Question: Did you run it in properly before exceeding 3500 rpm?

..................................................................................................

Jarrah.

I had the exact same problem with mine.
Started about 400ks even though I tried to wear it in as per instructions, a quick visit to the dealer had that chain tightened in 10 minutes.

I had a rattle just like this when I shut the throttle off. It was the chain hitting the roller, the one just above the swinging arm pivot.

Nice and simple

Yeh i definately haven't over reved it. It has 40km on the clock and i have been driving it slow and steady. Having a big car background I have a good understanding of breaking in a new engine as ive had to do it. either that or the 13km the dealer put on it at the start was over reving. its on a 12month warranty so i could get it checked out easily. Sounds just like a loose chain hitting something too. ill check that out
