the spockets all need to be replaced looks like on the bikes i have. i will have probable 60 dirt/40 hwy riding. where i will have trails, dirtroads, gravel, sand, woods, and hwy riding.

i think i would like the 14 front for sure, my real question comes with the rear.. a 50/51/52? my current set up now is 13/52 on both bikes.

actually why im here ill ask opinions for a good dual purpose tire to use. thnx again all

Hi Vic

It's very difficult to advise on the right sprocketry for someone else's riding territory - sight unseen.

If your trails aren't tight and nadgery and you have a lot of open going then I suggest any of those ratios would be suitable and would probably go for the higher 14/50 combo. If there are some technical trails then 14/52.

If you serach the forum on "sprockets" you will find some useful threads biggrin

In terms of tyres, what do your riding buddies use? I know the tyres I would use on my local lanes but doubt that a Pirelli MT43 or a MITAS CO2 would be good for you.

Sorry that I can't be more helpful.

Brian

Changing from 13:52 to any of the combinations you mention will be quite different for you. You could get a higher top speed if the engine is strong enough but you'll lose the super low 1st for the technical steeps
