The parts website is great and very helpful and friendly, just asked them for bits to recommensing my ttr for the road and came up with a very good price, a lot lower price than I thought, wish pay day would hurry up.

can you recommend me some cheap road tyres for MOT and which hammerite suits the frame.

Thank you for the kind comments ref Totally TTRs!

Standard tyres are 3.00x21 and 4.60x18. Cheapest road tyres are usually Cheng Shin, Mitas or Kenda. Just see what your local tyre depot or m/c shop have on offer. My stepson buys his road tyres for his WR125R from CMS in Exeter and just takes the cheapest they have on the shelf!

If the paint is just for the rear subframe then it’s not so critical. Can’t see any paint names on their website - http://www.hammerite.co.uk/products/index.jsp

I recommend duro for a reliable cheap tire.

I'm running median duro on my 96 ttr and 5000 ks on them with some very aggressive riding (backing it in etc) tread still barely worn and they hold will on road and on light gravel. Never a flat. Good all round tire for 170 australian dollars a set for a 70% Road 30% gravel I'm glad I got them

Median duro 80/90 - 18
Median duro 120/90 - 21

Very nice of you to say so guys - much appreciated!

A good time to perhaps warn that I am leaving Trish (aka Mrs TTR) in charge for up to a month from (probably) 17th June. I am off to the States riding shotgun for a very good mate who is collecting some Mustang engines to import to the UK.

I will keep in touch as best I can and have a new Android device on its way to take over the water which promises the earth in terms of communication functionality - we will see confuse

Trish is pretty good now on all the new stuff - just describe what you want using the names on the web pages and I don't think you will have any problems wink

The sales@totallyttrs.com will be monitored regularly by Trish and she can ask my advice if need be.

It's really just the used parts that she won't be able to sort out.

PLEASE NOTE:  My roadtrip has now been confirmed and flights booked!!!

I am going Stateside & leaving Mrs TTR (aka Trish) in charge from 16th June – 13th July which means service will not be quite up to the usual “Totally” standard for the duration, although Trish will do her best!

Unless she can find it on a shelf there won’t be any second hand parts available and you may not be wise not to ask her for mechanical advice!!!!

Brian

Is it possible parts can be shipped to the U.S. and bought with a U.S. credit card? I really want one of those stainless steel exhaust headers when I get some money this summer as well as some other goodies on there...

It is increasingly the case that Trish does all the quotes, invoicing, packing and posting! I am slowly but surely being confined to the workshop under instruction to reduce my fleet of TTRs disbelief

I am having to get a bit more involved in the day-to-day Totally TTRs business work recently as Trish's mum suffered a serious but short illness and the dear old lady died last night - all happened in about 10 days cry

You won't escape me - muhaha wink

I am taking a Netbook with me loaded with Team Viewer - http://www.teamviewer.com/en/index.aspx - which allows me to access/control my PC at home.

I have been using it in the garage to access my office desktop very successfully. It copes well with my dual monitors and is very usable even on the Netbook's tiny screen.

What to do about phone communication is another issue that I can't get my head around!

Also, what mapping to use to navigate around the US?

Brian

Sorry to hear of the recent loss, Brian. It's always a shock to the system - even when expected. cry

That would explain the lack of vehicles on your drive this noon. Only the trailer was left - even your door mat had gone. confuse

My first outing on the TTR since my off last month.

Totally TTRs stands for "Totaly Trish Running shortly" I presume. biggrinbiggrin

I hope that things are back to normal for you soon.
