i was under my bike today and looked up and was wondering if there would be any room under the rear fender at all to have some sort of storage, somewhere. like where the tail thingy that holds the license plate bolts on.
I was also thinking what if the two bolts that hold the seat on were wing nuts, that would be tops. it would be far easier to undo out bush without having to get a tool out.
while on the subject of wing nuts, why didnt they do something like that, or g clips instead of the two phillips head bolts that hold the side covers on.
its not so much of a drama to access the air filter, i just unclip the cover from the rubber clips and spin the cover while it is still bolted on and can access the whole airbox, but the battery is near impossible to access without unscrewing that phillips head. id rather a g clip or something tool less.
For the sidepanels I just wound an M6 bolt in from the back of the frame, then held it in place with a locknut, then used a wingnut to hold the sidepanels on to this. I plan on doing something similar to the seat bolts, but I don't really have any reason to - there's not much that you need to remove the seat for at the side of the road.
i was thinking about getting some long bolts (real long) and putting them in the seat while its off, grinding off the heads of the bolts so you can put the seat on and the threads poke out under the bike, and having holes drilled through the bolt so you could insert a clip. or something.....
