G'day guys,

Just picked up my brand spankin' new TTR250 yesterday afternoon, having only just getting my motorbike learners on Saturday, and have since just found the forum.

Looking forward to contributing and learning lots from the guys and girls here.

Hello Brenno, a friend of mine emigrated "down under" in 1976. He's coming to this year's TT races on the Isle of Man and will be calling in to see me. aww

He lives a fair way from your Geelong VIC, in a place called Mudgee, in NSW. smile

He tells me there is plenty of outback to use a TTR in, but precious few filling stations. biggrin

Martyn

Hi Martyn,

I'll be trying to give mine a few good trips to the bush in the near future. I'll be sure to load up the Disco with a spare jerry can. biggrin

Brenno- welocome to the world of the TTR. This is my 2nd TTR and after owning about 30 bikes since I was riding at 5 y.o., this is the only one I have bought twice.

Including things like Ducati (three of them), GPz900 and a 600 Tenere. Travelled around Europe for two years on a BMW and then a Yamaha.

Great bike - but hard to farkle for long ADV trips.

so youve bought a ducti twice also, and again after that. lol

hey how was the tenere. what do you think the new 600 tenere would be like in comparison to the TTR and other bikes in its class.

Still love duke's - air cooled, 2 valve only of course. Although I have bought 4 valves - I wouldn't do it again! tenere 600 was a great bike. If I could get the same 1988 model in same condition, I would go for it. Love the 660 new model as well. But they are a bit costly for my current status yamahas are the best jap bikes.

Loved the tenere off road - but too far off the ground with the weight up high for a short arse like me.. The TTR is about the same height, but so much lighter.
