Morning all..New member to the site here so Hello to you all......I'm seeking a TTR right now and seem to be suffering with an under supply situation!
I live near St Albans (Herts) but am willing to travel for the right bike, Seems a lot of TTR's are owned in the S/W (Dev & Cor) funnily enough! I'm hoping my local TRF group may turn something up for me!
My budget may only stretch to an Open Enduro model but maybe an early 'Blue' model if i'm lucky.
Apparently it needs indicators for an MOT (it currently doesn't have one) or removal of lamps for a 'daytime' MOT. Is fitting indcators (front and rear i assume) a fairly easy job? Would the wiring be there on the loom?
It also states it's a '97 but i thought the purple wheels were off the earlier models? I may well be wrong.
Do any of you have any views on the "White" model and anythng i should look for when i go to see it today?
Do any of you have a TTR for sale currently i may be interested in?
Many thanks
Neil

You can remove the indicators easy enough. And you wont get a daytime mot. As no such thing exists. All that will happen is you get an advisory stating that the indicators were not present at time of test.
Hi Ratty, thanks for the advice on the indicators...knew i should have asked here first and not the bloody seller!!!
Yes i'm on the GLC too, I'm based in the GLC heartland! I'm making progress on my bike search...fingers crossed i'll have a bike to come and join you guys on real soon...
Cheers

Hertsrider, have I seen you lurking on the Green Lane Crew forum too?

Hi Ed, in Hitchin & Neil, in Kimpton. I'm in St Albans. With 2 local riders on at the same time I couldn't not say something too.
Been following the forum for a while but I don't hardly get out. Haven't been out in a year!
However if & when you guys are planning rides I'd love to know, on the slim chance I'd be able to tag along
Cheers
Mark
Mark...no worries....I'm hoping to get a bike sorted and in my hands over the next 10days then i'll be gagging to get out...there is a lot of locals to here that are into Laning so i expect we can hook up with quite a few people and learn the ropes.
There seems to be a lot of people posting on this forum http://www.thegreenlanecrew.co.uk/about.html who are from Herts/Beds and Bucks so ride outs are definately happening....
Trying hard to get my bike running well...the venhill throttle/hand grip assembly won't return snappily. It just moves back slowly also the speedo doesn't work
Anyways, it's not a TTR it's an AJP PR4. I started with a Serow then fancied a change so looked for something smaller i.e an Alp 200 but the PR4 came up. It's great off road if you like slow but on road it's not even 55mph

Frankly I'd like to sell it and move to a TTR
Spit....have a look at the link here for a good looking TTR....
Thanks for the pointer to the OE on Ebay and yours at Stansted (couldn't be closer!) but I'm not in a position to buy until I sell so the hunt is off until someone is nice enough to give me the £.
Turns out I ride so little about £1000+ is all I can spare towards my fun so I'm always ears for an OE or early blue
Delighted to say i'll be collecting my new steed this afternoon! Details and photos to follow.....day booked off work on Thursday to enjoy it!! (Herts & Beds ride out anyone??)
Weather is going to be lovely. However I'll be in Sweden dog sledding for the week- wife's 40th. Anyways my bike has a broken front disc, the replacement is looking at me but it takes me a while to get anything done. Have a great day. Please keep me posted of any future rides, via PMs. Mark
Great ride out yesterday, Hertfordshire really does have some cracking lanes!! Couple of pics of my Raid and rattlyolddt's OE......they looked good flying in formation down the lanes!
Hi, I bought this one the other week. It didn't need indicators for the mot as it had a single seat and no pillion footrests. The shop put an mot on it free of charge which was good. It is in fact a 1993 bike that was first registered in the UK in 1997.
Will give it its first ride on the lanes over near Braintree this weekend hopefully.

Nice one Lee, looks like a nice bike....it's on Open Enduro model then i assume just minus the paint job/stickers. You'll have a great time on it i'm sure....post some pics up of it in action on your ride out.

No pics, but did the lanes out near Braintree / Stisted. Very pleased with the bike. Suspension coped well with the ruts, and engine has plenty of grunt to get through the mud.
