I have a complete inventory of every bit of petrol I've put in my TTR tank and the miles it has done (from 17-Aug-2010). wink

At the moment it is averaging 73.4 miles for every gallon.

I can't give a miles per tank figure because I don't always fill my tank on empty, more as the occasion arises - If I'm out on the lanes and it's unknown where the next fill is I'll top up ASAP.

I do, however, invariably fill it to the brim.

So, the tank holds 10 litres (2.2 gallons) and therefore a full tank should give around 160 miles, but you'd have nothing in reserve! confuse

for some reason i just cant see my bike getting 256 km. i only got 130 from the first tank. i have added an exhaust and done the airbox mod, and got the carb tuned, but 120km less, i cant work that out.

You can see that "miles per tank" is variable on how much was in the tank when it was filled. confuse

The therotical tankfull mileage would only be realised if I rode from a brim-full tank and used all the petrol - a situation that would leave me in the wilds of wanney miles from a filling station. wink

An average miles per gallon figure is fairly accurate because the tank is pretty much brim-filled every time, unless the £/l is extortionate! blankstare
