wanted: front shock spring spacer tube/s

Hi,

I want to increase the spring rate in my forks a bit to compensate for the addition of a 22l acerbis tank.

i figure the neatest way would be to get a factory spacer tube and use a lathe to machine off a couple of 4mm (ish) sections

does anyone have a spare spacer or two they can sell me? if so pm me

i should be able to get a few extra 4mm spacers machined up and make them available for whatever it costs me to have it done.

thanks

Alex

Not tried it in a TTR but I used to use PVC waste pipe as spacers in the forks of my Husky WR many years ago with no problems. Used to enduro it so was tested well enough wink

Hi Alex,

Surely you can increase the spring rate by increasing the air pressure in the forks, from 0 psi. (soft) to 5.8 psi. (hard) all as per the owners manual.

Have you tried this first?

I run my TTR250 in overlanding trim (22ltr.Acerbis), soft - 0 psi.

Alec.

Hi, thanks for the responses

A few people have suggested PVC but I'm not too keen on using plastic in place of steel. I thought about air pressure but my ADM owners manual says max 0.4psi (typo?) and I have absolutely no way of measuring pressures that small and I've blown seals on another bike with too much pressure.

I have ordered a spacer from yamaha, only au$22 so not bad at al

Cheers
