IMG_4505.JPGHi there everyone, Matt here from Snowy Connecticut. So I finally got to ride my new to me 2006 TTR today. I REALLY love this thing.  There's a lot of different thoughts going on in my head, I havent had a bike since I left London 25 years ago... Marriage, two teens, work, all the other stuff - then I lost my dad a few months back, realised I lost a piece of me - I dont want to just sit down, so creeping into my head came another bike..... My last steed was a hotted up XT500, nice, lovley handling but NOTHING compared to even a not properly set up TTR!!! Its like switching from a shire horse (Clydesdale to my American Friends) to a thoroughbred - what a ride!

So I stepped in S%$t and came up smelling of roses. got it for $1000 because the guy couldnt get it running. years ago I used to be a motorcycle mechanic, So I got it home stripped the carb (pilot jet took 9 turns in to stop) cleaned it, reset to Yamahas recomended 1.5 turns  and put it back together.

It started 3rd try.  Hmmmm took out the plug looked like it was dipped in tar! new plug, first click of the button it fires up!

 

IM going to make this road legal.... more to follow,

To post pics just look below the text entry box and tick the Attach Image(s) box. A new dialogue box opens allowing you to browse your computer's folders and select the pic(s) you want to post.

Once selected, click on Upload Images and wait until they have uploaded at which stage put you put your cursor in the text box where you want the pic to appear and then click on Insert of the pic you want and it will be added to your message. Job done!

You can also link to pics that you may have stored on image hosting sites like Photobucket and Webshots.

It looks like we may have another "mechanic in residence" now, who can fettle carburettors - which are an admitted enigma to Brian, our founder resident mechanic! wink

Nice looking TTR Matt!

How does she handle in snow?

Last winter we had two days of snow here in Barcelona, Spain and I took mine to the same trails I'd hit with my Kingquad...man it was wild had a hard time getting back home in one piece.
