Hi folks

Name's Mike.

Recently picked up a 2006 TTR250 as I have decided I need/want to get some dirt skills. I've been riding road for a couple of years - I also have an Aprilia Tuono.

They all look the same but everyone loves pics, right?

The morning after I picked it up, all shiny and clean. It had never been off road until today:

And later that day:

My introduction to dirt was a little bit hardcore, being thrown in the deep end is an understatement! However I improved greatly throughout the day. Managed to bend a brake lever, smash a tail light (well the bloke behind me did that actually) and get very very dirty.

The little Yammie is unbreakable (believe me I tried). Pick it up in a foot and a half of water, and it just starts up and rides on.

It now has new shorty levers, new tail light, and I'm on the lookout for some reasonably priced bark busters.

I put Dunlop D603 tyres on it, which seem to be OK (I need a little road capability), although I have nothing to compare them to...

I purchased a B&B rear carry rack, and went to install it yesterday. Either I'm missing something really simple, or I'm losing my mind, or this rack isn't suitable if you actually need the rear blinkers! It mounts to the blinker mount points, subsequently making it impossible to mount the blinkers. Anyone else have this rack? What did you do?

I think that's all for now.

May see some of you out there!

Mike.

Gday mike,

where abouts are you? im in Goulburn NSW.

I recently bought a new TTR.

If you unscrew the seat you will see two bolts under it that hold on the crap looking strap on the seat. easy to remove that.

staintune make a good pipe for the TTR. you will notice some power gain but may have to rejet.

All the best mate.

Dave Campbell.
