I found some information from the owner that did the mods:

Showa USD forks came off a 2006 Kawasaki KX250F.

They took a little work to fit, ie special modified KX yoke spindle, special modified TTR wheel spindle, front caliper mount modified to take TTR caliper.

I then took the forks apart and fitted softer springs.

To be honest the original forks were great but these offer a bit more in the way of setting up and adjustment. It’s a fair bit of work to do this mod – not one for the faint hearted (I manage a machine shop!).

They do look the business though don’t they!

The gear lever is a folding alloy YZ type. The black frame protectors are simply Sikaflex rubber from a cartridge (they work great and save your boots).

May be hard to spot (daylight just above the carb), weight saving came from total removal of the upper rear engine mount. I’ve never had another bike with 5 mountings and 4 is enough. I have proven that. God bless Yamaha’s over-engineering!

I noticed the front disc is not standard. Is that due to the front end being not genuine? With the wave type front brake disc to you get better braking?

Thanks

Greg

I believe the braking is better according to the person who I bought it off. He did the modifications and stated that he also changed the standard brake piping, to piping which will stand more pressure. I have not rode the bike since purchasing over three months ago, I hope to get the time after spring.

Brian knows more about the bikes history than me, I believe he has answered your question.

Brian, do you have any more information about my bikes history, which may help me with regards to it's make up, thank you. I obviously don't know much about what I have purchased.

Mick

Sorry Mick but that is all I could find. There might have been some more info on the old Yahoo forum but not sure what to search under.
