Question about bike

Hello again, ok i have owned my ttr250 for 3 1/2 years and i just want to know something, When i blip the throttle really fast when idling it bogs, Is this a normal occurance? or it is the jetting, It has a standard 147 main jet (aussie) and 52.5 pilot jet, and a Fmf powercore 4 exhaust, it seems to be running rich as when i change my sparkplug it is always very black.

Thanks.

I had a similar issue on my last trip. Fix.. Well at $3 can of carby cleaner. Just sprayed it in the air intake before the carb while engine was running, gave a few revs! 90% fixed. Very noticeably better. a fiddle with the air fuel mix and its all good! It's a cheep option that might help you. Good luck

Another query that's slipped through without response. cry

When the throttle is yanked open quickly there is sometimes a lag untill the air rush/petrol mixture gets sucked into the engine.

Depending on the speed of the right wrist and the state of tune of the carb/engine the delay can seem large and the motor stutters.

They all do it - it's just that when adjustments get a little loose and tired the delay seems to get bigger.

To remedy this I would advise checking the state of the air filter, then the adjustment on the throttle cables followed by carburettor cleanliness and then jet and float checking followed by spark plug and ignition settings.

They are all inter-related so do one thing at a time and check before doing the next adjustment.

Good luck biggrin and report back.

Martyn
