Ok guys im really confused???? Doenst take much ha ha..

Number 1 does the standard header have a restrictor? If so If I cut 10mm off will the tail pipe still fit ok?

Number 2 is it myth or not the throttle stop screw needs adjusting as mister Yamaha prevents full throttle?

Number 3 if I have an FMF after market tail pipe and I do above mods should I rejet and what jets and sizes and where do I get them from UK???

Number 4 shall I remove snorkel off air filter or just trim? Do I cut holes in as on my DRZ we did a 3 x 3 modcwhich helped with certain mods???

Basically guys what is myth and reality and whats worth it and not....

Steve

ps love the bike as it is but hey if there horses to be released why not????

Good questions Steve - light the blue touch paper and retire immediately!

No 1 - there is no way of telling if you have the restrictor without pulling the exhaust off. Most likely there would have been one from new but a previous owner may have removed it. Only the side panel and two bolts to take off and a clamp to loosen wink

No 2 - see http://ttr250.activeboard.com/t46712317/my-bike-and-what-mods-should-i-do/ - I respect Lin's opinion as he knows his stuff ref TTR carbs!

No 3 - my mate nearly lost his engine by not rejetting for his FMF but it was on a white TTR with the small main jet. Might be OK on a blue TTR with the larger main jet.

No 4 - controversial question! Most of my riding is in Devon lanes and we have quite a few ford crossings and deep water-filled ruts to tackle. I leave my snorkel intact to help keep the water out the airbox.

Thanks Brian

I think on my day off Monday I will play in the garage..... Defo look at the front header and see if it has restrictor.

By the way mate, what do you make of my head cowl? Gona remove Monday and check markings, bulbs etc and see what its come from and what bulb is in it, but its bloody bright......

Difficult to make it out from the pics Steve. Have you got any close up pics?

If it works well and if you would prefer it blue then why not plastic prime and respray it?

Brian

Yeah good point, I actually like it white..... Will get some better pics but I think a close up inspection of bulb etc will help identify what it is.

Our blue TTRs went significantly better with the snorkel removed. However we don't do deep water crossings.
