Hi. I'm Pete from Stafford. Just purchased a 1996 TTR 250 to have a go at Green Laning with my son in law. I think this is my 3rd mid life crisis after giving up on touring and bikes altogether about 5 years ago.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just got her tested and road legal yesterday so looking forward to getting back in the saddle at the weekend and getting in a bit of practice, with the hope of taking to it on a regular basis.
Thrilled to bits with the bike and I will post some photos later. Anyone in the area who could introduce me to some "Nursery Lanes" would be greatly appreciated. Regards to all. Pete.
I was a "newbie" to TTRs and trail riding last year, having ridden various motorbikes since 1963 - mainly on the roads.
My first "off road" bike was my 1962 Triumph Tiger Cub trial bike - I still run it, hence my "Handle".
When I moved to Devon I brought my Cub with me and discovered that Devon is THE trail capital of Britain. The Cub, though, is a bit slow between lanes. In order that I didn't miss out on this new found pass-time I joined the TRF - and I haven't looked back since.
I hope you both enjoy your TTRs. I would advise you both, if you want to get the most from them, to look out your local TRF group, introduce yourselves and sample a few of their runs.
Hi Sandyback, Thanks for your reply. Your not a million miles away eh.
I.ll keep in touch ounce I get going. The son-in law has made a contact in Melton Mowbray who has a number of routes sorted but due to me being out of practice I need to get some time in before tackling them. [They're a bit more than novice apparently]. Nothing around here!!!!.
Thanks for your reply and advice. I'll certainly make some enquiries regarding the TRF Group locally. Looking forward to getting some miles under the belt.
