Been riding in mid depth water and my bikes been cutting out.
Symptoms...
Cuts out and restarts easy enough but coughs and splutters until you get a full revs and then everything is normal then cuts out asoon as you hit the same depth of water???????
Checked spark cap all looks good changed plug... Replaced carb to manifold boot that was knackered (Made one myself for about 7 pounds if anyones intrested) but still cutting out in about half clutch casing water depth.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Cheers Guys, Daz.

Have a look at where the electrickery stuff is made before getting to the spark generator. There may be a bare bit of wiring as it emerges from the engine casing which makes a temporary short. Water and electricity do not mix happily! Martyn
Cheers Martyn for the advise.Just on with that right now, on a coffee break at the mo will get back to you with the results after a depth check. Cheers Daz

I am puzzled as to the cause Daz so apologies if I am suggesting the bleedin' obvious
Check that the two carb breathers going downwards from the carb from their T junctions still have their one-way valves fitted and that they are working. Suck and blow through 'em
I am guessing that no water is finding its way into the oil?
OK Brian There are 2 sraight pipes going out from behind the carb but there singles and not junction or one way valve is visable....checked and dropped the oil been in the water for nearly 2 months now and when I changed it there was miniscule miniscule signs of water Thanx Daz any diagrams of the hoses and t junction and oneway valves Cheers thats something i can check on

Brian .......Here you come to save the daaaaaaaaaaaaaaay let the water subside and I will order the complete t-junc and all hoses from you. If I order them now, I'm scared they will get lost in the post coz of the floods
getting frustrated with not being able to get parts out here...speedo sensors still not here too three months now bwcause of the flooding

Brian you are the GURU. I don't have the hose and oneway valve set up on my bike so I thought I would take the two staight hoses off and try the bike without and guess what no cutting out whatsoever. So can you explain why without these hoses on it's cutting out and can it be used without until i can get some replacements. Sorry for the grief fella. Cheers Daz

Hi Daz - good to hear you have found the cause of the cutting out.
In your sentence copied above, have you missed out a "not"? Otherwise I am confused - easily done
On may bikes with trailing carb breathers, problems can be caused by water blocking them and they are routinely re-routed into the airbox on WRFs and KTMs.
