BMSteve's First Ride On His TTR250

Hi Guys, well this is my first post here for some time, so to recap quickly, my first dirt bike for 25 plus years, was going to buy a XR at first but decided after riding a friends DR250 that an electric leg was the go, so swapped to a DRZ250 but after a while decided the extra weight and water cooling wasn't for me so then finally decided on the TTR, electric leg, air cooled, lighter than the DRZ, dare I say better suspension than the DRZ, so I've been told, etc...

So I got a pretty good one for $3750 with 3000k's on the clock in good condition, a slight oil leak behind the C/Shaft sprocket, so far that's the only thing I can fault it on, it came with a staintune exhaust, so that was the first thing to go, to noisy for me, also the previous owner didn't rejet it so it ran a bit crap with less power in the bottom end, now it's quiet, smooth and better off idle, here's a few picks of my first ride on some local fire trails.

A very capable and pleasingly satisfying maxchine is the TTR. I have to agree with you.

The only thing I've found to grumble about with mine is its weight which can be a tad embarrasing when severely cross rutted. blankstare

The reliability and petrol economy are pleasing assets, together with its "gruntability" when you find yourself in a high gear in a sticky position.

You have some nice terrain there in NSW but I can't see the connection between your last shot of the red flowers and an out of shot blue TTR? confuse

Happy riding, Martyn

The last shot of the Waratah's are the first one I have seen this year, they were just on the side of the fire trail standing out like red traffic lights, I guess just something a little different on the forum

Thats an impressive bloom Steve. How big is it? I must confess, its nice to see photos of where people ride and what they see along the trail, especially in different countries. Looks like some interesting riding over there.

Hey Mike

those blooms are about 10cm across, glad you liked the photo locations, I'll send more, some of the terrain where I live is amazing and rugged, it's a pleasure to get to some of these places now, I plan some real early morning trips to some spectacular vantage points

Catch Ya

Steve
