I thought I might share some pics of my TTR. It is a Aussie 2009 model and just ticked over 14,000km. I love it.

Hope you like.

Welcome to the forum Matt!

Great pics - good to see you aren't afraid to get the TTR dirty - looks like your mates are quite good at filling in following riders biggrin

I am sure you will be asked so maybe I am just as well do it, what exhaust are you running and did you have to rejet for it?

Also, what was the source of your motard wheels?

Brian

They do look better with a black frame rather than the blue frame we get in the UK.
She looks smart

Hi all,

Yes the boys love "filling me in"smile But only I can ride out to the meeting spots and play in the mud all day and then ride home again. I just take the mirrors, indicators and big number plate holder and hide them behind a bush and put them back on again to ride home.

The pipe is a TK pipe and is made by Terry Kelly just out of Brisbane. Terry used to make GYTR pipes before he started his own company. I did not have to rejet the bike. http://www.tkpipes.com.au/TKPTestHome.html

As I ride the bike to work I got another set of wheels.  They are both 18" - rear is completely stock with a Pirelli Sport Demon both front and back. http://www.pirelli.com/tyre/ww/en/motorcycle/sheet/sport_demon.html  and has a 43 tooth steel sproket I got made up at the chain gang in Brisbane http://www.chaingangchainsandsprockets.com.au/   The front wheel is a stock hub rebuilt with an 18"rim and stainless spokes http://www.spoked-wheels-brisbane.com.au/

HI Brian, I wrote a reply last night with the links but it was flagged as spam. If it has gone for good I will write it out again. The black frame does look good Martyn. The 2011 model is the same as mine as well.

Hey Matt
I have the post just above yours, "BM Steve on his first ride", I've been considering getting some tyres to replace the knobbies I have, are you running the standard rims here, if so what size/type/brand have you fitted and what do they handle like on and off road, my knobbies make the bike feel like it's got tank treads on the smooth dirt/tar at any speed below 80ks

I guess your happy with your TTR, I am too, just need a bit of maintainance and a few personal touches which I will post up as I go, the first thing Im going to do is alter the Gear lever to a more comfortable position, I may extend the lever end about 20mm to make it easier to get the boot on and I'm going to shorten the rear brake lever, I tend to ride on the balls of my feet all the time and I don't like to have to reach so far forward to get to the brake

Cheers

Steve

They look like the standard Dunlops to me Steve. I found they were a good tyre on the road and reasonably dry tracks but wet mud, ruts and so on and they made riding a bit unpredictable ... which had its fun points

Hi Steve,

I have the standard tyres and rims for dirt. They are the Dunlop D605. I have got 11,000 km out of the front tyre and 8,500km from the rear. On road they are great and are good in all trail riding except clay. I love the bike and intend on keeping it for some time.

Regards,

Matt
